Prehabilitation/ PREHAB is an upcoming strategy to prevent injuries in athletes, recreational sports persons or anyone with an active lifestyle.
Basically, it involves injury risk factors assessment and a training program before the injury happens.
PREHAB cannot be generalized, as it is very specific to an athlete/ individual depending on the demands of the sport, position of the athlete and each athlete’s physical capacity. Example: Demands of the sport on Goalkeeper vs Defender are very different in all the aspects.
That is why it is highly recommended to seek advice from a sports physiotherapist to enhance your performance and lower the risk of injury.
If you are interested in our Pre-injury Assessment and PREHAB programs either as athlete, team or club, book an appointment with us.
Physiotherapists are experts at rehabilitation of injury. In addition, they can help and guide someone who is not injured or experiencing any pain or discomfort. The aim is to prevent injuries and improve performance in sports or activities of daily living. Individuals of any age group or gender can consult a physiotherapist.
Physiotherapy can be started in the acute phase that is immediately after an injury. Depending on the type and severity of injury, age of the client, the physiotherapist will evaluate, guide and design a treatment plan for the client. Physiotherapists are also experts at treating long standing, persistent pain. In situations where further guidance is needed the physio can refer you to doctors (orthopaedic surgeons, neurologists, cardiologist, etc). Thus physiotherapy can be started in any phase of recovery but we recommend to start it as early as possible to get best and faster results.
- Our expert physiotherapist will note down your problems and detailed history.

- Based on the thorough assessment, you will be consulted. The therapists design a treatment program, which is individualized and tailored as per your complaints/ requirements.
- Plan of action will be chalked down after explaining the assessment report to you. This can happen on the same day or next session.
At REHAB STATION, we follow our motto of relief, recover and regain. We first aim to reduce the pain and complaints of the clients using manual therapy, mobilization, electrotherapy and exercise therapy. As the complaints start reducing we focus on exercise therapy, gaining mobility and strengthening. After any injury, mobility, muscle strength and flexibility, balance, endurance reduces. This has to be regained. Thus, we strongly recommend patients to continue physiotherapy even after pain subsides, in order to reduce chances of recurrence and re-injury and go back to normal routine. In most of the cases, one need not see the physiotherapist on a daily basis. We give home programs to patients after a few sessions which have exercises (exclusively for you) that can be performed easily at home or workplace or in the gym.
Posture is the position assumed holding your body and limbs while sitting, standing and lying down. A good posture means that you hold your body in such a way that gives minimum strain and effort on your spine and limbs.
YES, physiotherapy helps to correct your posture and moreover prevents postural deviations leading to any pain or complaints, for example neck/back pain due to long hours of desk job.
